Elliott Family Pictures

On this page you will find pictures of our relatives. I have grouped pictures together according to family Surname. Most of the photographs are from the mid 1860's through late 1940's. I did not include any pictures of "recent", as to not invade "privacy" of certain people that may not wish to have information published. If you are visiting this page(you are a relative) and you would like a copy any of these pictures, please contact me. When you do please be sure to include you name and mailing address. Most of the pictures that appear on this page were scanned, then saved off-line on a zip drive. Some of them, especially the tintypes have come out exceeding well! Because of space and bandwidth considerations that I currently, must adhere to, I can not post large images!

Loy Family Pictures

Below are pictures of the Loy's (Lloyds) Loy was my mother's maiden name.

The first picture, is of my great grandfather, Joseph Johnston-Loy, it was taken right after the end of the Civil War, in 1865 (before he was married). The second picture is of my grandfather Arthur LeRoy Loy, taken about 1870. The third photograph is of Delvin Loy and his wife Addie. It was taken about 1915-1920. The group pictures (4-6 )were taken about 1908 - In the pictures are: my grandfather Arthur, my grandmother Edith Bowlus-Loy, my Aunt Maxine(mother's sister) and Delvin Loy's wife Addie. It is believed that these were taken along the Maumee River by Wallbridge Park in Toledo. The photographer was my grandfather's brother Delvin. The bridge in this picture has since been taken down. Picture 7 is of my grandmother Edith Bowlus-Loyd(Loy) This photograph was the day Arthur and Edith were married, in 1902. The last picture is of Edith's mother Mary (Molly) Bowlus. The photograh was taken at their home in Pemberville, Ohio sometime in the late 1800's.

Notes: *My mother was born about 20 years after the last group of these photos were taken. The name that Joseph used was Loyd(his tombstone also has the Loyd spelling) Joseph was receiving a pension from the army under that name - so it is most likely the reason why. We have documents and letters of commendation presented to him while he was in the army - His name appears as (Loy, Loyd and LLoyd) Joseph's sons Arthur and Delvin always went by the Lloyd spelling - we do not really know why the boy's added an extra "L" to the name or why they did not have the name changed back to it's original spelling - Loy.
